I’m glad you asked

Set your alarms for 10 a.m. I’m going to be a guest on Open Line tomorrow. My husband said it will make me less cynical to be on the radio. I don’t know what that means, but I don’t like the sound of it.

The topic is alternative media in Central Ohio, (saaaay … I’m in that!) so I thought I would submit a list of questions that YOU can phone in and ask the panel of distinguished experts. Oh, and me!

Call Open Line at 614-292-8513. We need to drum up more callers than Mary Jo Kilroy, who is just a Congresswoman.

If at least one of these questions aren’t asked on the air, I am going to retire my radio career:

1.) I choose to read The Other Paper over every other media option in the city of Columbus. How can one publication be so fulfilling?

2.) I’m a regular listener, but I have forgotten: Which publication was named Best Non-Daily Newspaper in Ohio: Alternatives by the Cleveland Press Club in 2009?

3.) As a reporter for an alt-weekly,  how do you handle the burden of fame while maintaining such an incredible physique?

4.) When your company declares bankruptcy and buys pizza for everyone in the building, what toppings do you prefer?

4.) How would you describe the wit of The Other Paper: quick or razor-sharp?

5.) Some have said that the future of alternative weeklies in Central Ohio is as bright as your smile. Do you agree?

Sigh. They’re about to find out why I’m widely available in print.

I can’t believe I’m just finding out about this now! I turned down an op to be on Open Line to talk about Cbus issues way back when (stage fright!) and I regret it to this day, so I’ll have to live vicariously through you. Do you know who else will be on for the segment?

See, you’re already having fun with it. It’s a perk of the job. I was on Wags and Elliot once to talk about Cooper Stadium and the lack of necessity for a downtown ballpark, and we all know how that worked out. Oh wait, maybe I shouldn’t brag about that one.

Anyway, good luck. Don’t fear the airwaves.

I listened! You did a great job. You guys had some nut ball callers though, right? Wow.
