Surreal Monday

It was REALLY quaint when mama deer started pushing baby deer on our tire swing.

It was REALLY quaint when mama deer started pushing baby deer on our tire swing.

This morning we woke to see two baby fawns and their mama snacking on some apples that had fallen from our tree. They let us watch from the porch, which is not quite 20 feet from the tree.

When I got to work, some of our sales gals had prepared a huge breakfast buffet, and they were playing jazz music at the coffee station. They said they are “bringing back the fun to Mondays.”

“This is a creative environment, and I am going to start enjoying myself again,” one of them said.

It’s funny to hear beleaguered coworkers react to the kind gesture … “Are we all getting laid off later today?” or “Have we declared bankruptcy again?”

“I feel like this is a preemptive apology for something terrible that is going to happen later today.”

When it comes to treats, we might be more skittish than the baby fawns.
